Senior Investigative Researcher – Financial Intelligence Unit, Assistant Vice President, Hybrid

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Senior Investigative Researcher will undertake pro-active research projects, using tools and methodologies similar to those undertaken by investigative journalists or intelligence analysts, to identify individuals and entities within investor populations serviced by State Street that may pose heightened financial crime risk. The role will focus on network analysis within the investor populations, using external data sources such as vendor datasets of corporate data or higher risk people/entities but with additional emphasis on high value publicly available data identified by the Investigative Researcher. The role will lead and direct special projects to detect direct and indirect network exposures related to global corruption, sanctions risk with a focus on Russian sanctions and East Asia, WMD proliferation, and other illicit activity. Following the execution of successful research projects, the role will work with data science teams to develop advanced machine learning detective models to identify such individuals and entities and their connected parties. The role will work closely with the data scientists and model specialists in the Financial Crime Compliance Innovations team to enhance the models which support such work.

This role may be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office in Quincy, Massachusetts to match your needs and role requirements.
