NASP hosts over 20 events per year locally at chapters and through the national office. NASP members receive discounted rates to conferences and events which can save you $1500 per year. For example, in 2017, members received a $500 discount for the Annual Pension and Financial Services Conference – one of the industry’s most respected and influential educational forums. In addition to workshops and panels, this conference provides opportunities to build and strengthen important business relationships and learn from peers and industry leaders.
NASP’s Legislative Symposium is held annually in Washington, D.C. and enhances our mission to promote fair and balanced policies for the inclusion of people of color and women in all aspects of the securities industry. Key financial oversight representatives and decision-makers from congressional committees, federal and regulatory agencies and quasi-public private sector entities participate in this event.
Professional development is essential in today’s competitive business environment. Through your NASP membership, you will have opportunities to improve your skill set to become a greater asset to your company. With enhanced knowledge of the marketplace as a whole, be a key player in helping your firm meet its business objectives. As of October 2017, NASP is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. This new benefit allows NASP members to receive CPE credits for attending year-round programming including in-person conferences as well as virtual webinars. Plan sponsor trustees and investment staff will continue to receive CPE Credits during the NASP Institute at the Annual Pension and Financial Services Conference. Additional tracks of programming for the full conference, subject to approval, will now be permitted to count towards CPE credit issuance as well.
NASP has established FAST Track , a program that provides high school students financial literacy and expose them to the careers on Wall Street. NASP also conducts a Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium for college students which includes a recruitment fair and workshops for career preparation. Share your insight and help build the future pipeline of diverse financial services professionals.
