The Mentor’s Luncheon

As part of the Future Financial Professionals Pipeline initiative to increase diversity in the financial services sector, NASP holds a FREE Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium for diverse undergraduate students interested in finance, business, and the related fields. The Symposium provides students with internship and career resources from corporate recruiting teams as well as networking opportunities with NASP professionals to help nurture their growth. 

The Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium is open to undergraduate college students studying finance, business, economics, marketing, accounting and students studying other fields with a strong interest in a career in the financial services industry. The event has reached over 1000 students since inception. 

  • Exposes students to a variety of roles within the industry from diverse representation from large firms, emerging and minority- and women-owned firms, as well as the public sector. 
  • Provides students an opportunity to hear from professionals who encourage their success through candid panel discussions. 
  • Teaches early professional development through workshops and information sessions. 
  • Provides students with career and internship resources through an on-site recruitment exhibition. 

F.A.S.T Track (Financial & Scholastic Training)

The Wall Street Finance and Scholastic Training (FAST) Track Program is a rigorous nine-month program that exposes talented high school minority students to the financial services industry. Beginning in October, students meet with mentors twice a month and focus on developing skills in two key areas: financial aptitude and career/personal development. 

Program Goals and Objectives: 

  • Identify and expose talented minority students to the financial services industry and other industries that finance directly and positively affects. 
  • Enhance academic career and personal development skills. 
  • Provide mentoring, develop and promote financial literacy, and encourage students to consider a career in finance, banking, accounting, economics, and other related fields. 

FAST TRACK (Financial & Scholastic Training) Program Components: 

  • Informational sessions on Stocks, Bonds, Personal Finance, Business Operations, Real Estate, Technology and how these instruments enhance the business environment domestically and abroad. 
  • Comprehensive review of Resume Writing, Interviewing, Networking, Business Etiquette, and Public Speaking techniques through debate competitions. 
  • On-site one-day tours and visits to financial institutions (NYSE, Museum of Finance, etc.) and educational institutions (Harvard Business School, Trinity College, Howard University, Boston College and others). 
  • Interaction with mentors and visiting professionals from the financial services industry.
  • Summer Internships with financial institutions in the New York City area. 
  • Scholarships for graduating seniors ($3,500 to $12,000) from NASP Fasttrack Foundation

Young Professionals Council

NASP is pleased to announce the formation of its Young Professionals Council (YPC), aimed at cultivating insights, input, and collaboration from today’s emerging leaders.

This strategic initiative seeks to enhance NASP’s effectiveness and impact in fostering the growth of the next generation of leaders. Exciting developments on the horizon include sharing workforce research regarding GenZ and Millennials, intergenerational communication initiatives and the creation of career navigation resources, reflecting NASP’s commitment to empowering young professionals on their leadership journey.
