Natixis Investment Managers offers an undergraduate summer internship program for rising juniors (class of 2027) and rising seniors (class of 2026) at our Boston, MA headquarters. The internship program begins in early June and ends in mid-August. The internship is a paid, 40-hour workweek and being located in the Boston area for the duration of the internship program is required.
The internship consists of four main program components.
- Business department assignments. Interns will work as a member of a specific business team for the duration of the summer. Completing projects and assigned tasks for the department will make up the majority of time each week. Department assignments vary from year to year. Several factors influence the department assignment process. In general, interns are placed in one of the following departments:
- Sales. Organize and conduct datamining projects to identify potential clients across various geographic regions, provide actionable insights to enhance the sales team’s outreach and client acquisition efforts, assist the sales team by running proposals for the strategies. Utilize platforms like Salesforce and BrightScope to develop reports and campaigns for current clients, translate proposals into internal tools, and manage data cleanup projects to ensure accuracy of client information. Additionally, sales interns will have the option to study for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam.
- Marketing. This role offers the opportunity to work on our corporate materials and messaging, the global research program and to learn about the international and events aspect of our business.
- Corporate Finance. Develop and combine detailed knowledge of the Natixis business model (including affiliated investment managers and their areas of expertise, product offerings, US Distribution Sales channels, and profitability drivers) with in depth understanding of the organization’s sales and asset data, source systems, and reporting tools. This position involves broad based responsibilities in the finance department of Natixis IM, the holding company of the Natixis IM group.
- Legal & Compliance. Assist with research on regulatory compliance, investment agreements, and corporate governance issues. Gain exposure to the legal considerations involved in asset management operations and help to ensure that the Firm adheres to all relevant laws and regulations governing the financial industry.
- Project Management. Work closely with project leaders to define project scope, business requirements, dependencies, human and budget resource needs, critical deliverables, timelines and overall project success criteria. You will capture business processes through observation and meetings and will work closely with various business groups running projects and assisting in enterprise wide application adoption.
- Investments. Become a part of the Natixis Investment Solutions Portfolio Management Team within the Portfolio Analysis & Consulting Group. You will assist in the investment management functions associated with the multi-asset class model programs, investments, and assets managed by Natixis Investment Management Solutions.
- Distribution Enablement Group (DEG). Join a group which encompasses Business Intelligence, Analytics & Data Science, Sales & Marketing Operations, and Distribution Strategy. Help to drive business growth and improve efficiency by extracting insights from data and streamlining the use of data & technology through developing business analytic reports, generating and centralizing data-driven leads based on current firm priorities, and more.
- Information Technology. Responsibilities could include working closely with IT associate and various business facing groups to resolve cases, respond to requests from business users, configure and develop reports and application functionality, collect critical data assets and organize them into the Enterprise Data Warehouse for analytics and reporting, or data engineering, curation, analysis and visualization activities. IT interns gain exposure to various tools, industry leading applications and reports and may support, troubleshoot, develop and roll out application functionality. This is a hands on job assisting with technology solutions and key projects to advance the Firm’s data journey.
- Research project. A team based research project will be lead by a Natixis Mentor with subject matter expertise and culminate with a 30-minute presentation on the group’s findings and point of view.
- Learning sessions. Approximately 2-4 hours each week are dedicated to developing professional, interpersonal, and other business skills through trainings, panels, networking and virtual learning platforms.
- Volunteer opportunity. We believe it is our civic responsibility to help improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work. Our interns will have an opportunity to experience this by working with one of our community partners.
